Lines Between Your Eyebrows Can Be Botoxed Away
Are you struggling with age lines between your eyebrows? These stubborn frown lines are called glabellar lines, and they can make a person look perpetually tired and older than they actually are.
If you have unwanted glabellar lines and wish they would go away, you’re in luck: Botox is an effective wrinkle solution.
Botox
Botox injections are used to relax your stiff and contracted facial muscles. When these muscles are relaxed, this allows the skin covering them to lie flat and smooth. This means no more wrinkles, just youthful-looking skin.
Botox is an effective non-surgical solution for fine lines and wrinkles. Because it’s an injectable treatment, no scalpels will be needed and no incisions will be made. This means that there isn’t a great deal of post-surgical swelling or bruising, and it also means that there will be no downtime afterwards.
Good Candidates for Botox
Anyone over the age of 18 with fine facial lines and wrinkles can come in for Botox treatment to ease their glabellar frown lines and more. Pregnant/breastfeeding women should not come in for Botox treatments.
Patients who opt for a Botox treatment have most likely already tried over-the-counter solutions to treat these frown lines and have found results to be lacking.
It will be important to come in for a consultation with Dr. Kaye before arranging a date for the procedure. During this consultation, Dr. Kaye will assess you for any risk factors and let you know if Botox is right for you.
Preparation for the Treatment
You will be advised to go off blood thinners and certain other medications for a few days before the procedure. On the day of the procedure, an anesthetic cream may be applied onto the area to ease any discomfort that you would otherwise feel during the Botox treatment. The procedure takes only around 15 minutes to complete and involves simple injections in precise areas.
Your Results
Results will begin to show themselves after around a week but may take up to a month to become prominent. The injections last for three to four months, and after this point, you may be able to come in for a new treatment to maintain your results.
Many people call Botox a lunch-time treatment. Because there is no downtime required for recovery, you can immediately return to your work after the injections. If you have the time, it is recommended that you rest at least two hours after getting the Botox injections.
Mild redness, bruising, and swelling may be noticed at the injection sites. These symptoms should go away on their own within a week.
Patients getting Botox are also recommended to adopt a good skincare routine to prolong their results. Cut down on smoking, eat healthy, and rest well to keep your skin looking youthful and beautiful.
