Our plastic surgeon performs lipoabdominoplasty as an outpatient service in his IMQ accredited outpatient surgery center. The procedure is performed under total intravenous anesthesia to ensure your comfort and safety. During lipoabdominoplasty, Dr. Mitchell Kaye performs liposuction on the abdominal area. and removes any loose, excess skin.

After your procedure, you will be discharged home. You can expect a follow-up call on the evening of surgery, as well as an office visit with Dr. Mitchell Kaye on the day after surgery.

If you are one of our many patients who travel significant distances to have your procedure with us, we recommend staying overnight in a local hotel to avoid long car rides after the surgery. We have special discounted rates with local hotels, and our Patient Care Coordinator will be able to provide you with the information you need.

Recovery from lipoabdominoplasty is typically faster than would be expected from traditional abdominoplasty. For best results and minimized chance of complications, we encourage you to refrain from strenuous activities for about one week; we recommend one week of rest and relaxation following your procedure.

You can usually expect to return to work and resume light daily activities after one week. As part of your follow-up visits with Dr. Mitchell Kaye, he will also provide you with instructions on when you can resume your normal gym workouts.
