Brow Lift (Forehead Lift)

Conveniently located to serve Hopkinsville and Christian County

The forehead and brow area tend to be one of the first places to show the signs of aging. Dr. Mitchell D. Kaye will often initially recommend BOTOX®, which helps to decrease the wrinkles formed by movement and to relax the muscles in this area. As the skin begins to lose its elasticity, you will begin to see further signs of aging such as frown lines, wrinkling across the forehead as the forehead drops down with the effects of gravity, and increasing heaviness in the eyebrows. Our plastic surgeon may recommend a forehead lift, also known as a brow lift, to help you achieve a more youthful appearance and to address such unwanted features as a tired or angry look.

What is it?

In a brow lift, Dr. Mitchell D. Kaye removes excess skin from the brows and the forehead to reduce wrinkling and drooping. For some patients, he will also remove part of the muscle that causes vertical frown lines between the brows.

Is a Brow Lift (Forehead Lift) right for me?

Do you want to:
– Reduce your wrinkles and facial creases?
– Diminish your frown lines?
– Raise sagging eyebrows?
– Achieve a more youthful appearance?

AM I A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR A BROW LIFT?

Ideal brow lift candidates are in good health since certain medical issues and conditions can create an increased chance of complications. The best candidates also have realistic expectations for the procedure’s results.

Non-smokers are good candidates for this procedure. Smoking creates skin-health issues that can lead to complications. If you are a smoker, you must stop smoking at least two weeks beforehand and for the entirety of the recovery process.

What will Dr. Kaye and I discuss during my consultation?

To accommodate your personal needs and desires, there are several available options for the specific type of surgery and the location of the incisions used for a forehead lift. As part of your personalized consultation with Dr. Mitchell D. Kaye before the procedure, we will discuss with you which options will best fit your individual goals and needs.

How long is the procedure?

Forehead lift surgery typically requires two hours and is performed as an outpatient treatment at our IMQ-accredited cosmetic surgery center at the Advanced Cosmetic Surgery Center of Tennessee. The surgery is performed under deep sedation and local anesthesia, facilitating a quick recovery at home.

How long will recovery take?

Recovery from a brow lift tends to be rapid, and the sutures are removed within the first week. There is no noteworthy downtime involved with brow lift surgery, but we do recommend limiting your activities for approximately ten days following treatment.

For the most part, patients are able to resume their normal daily activities after 7-10 days, and they can resume their exercise routine by about the third week.

HOW MUCH DOES A BROW LIFT COST?

The cost of a forehead lift varies depending on several key details. The techniques that have been chosen for the procedure impact price, as does the type of anesthesia used. The amount of time required to perform the surgery also makes a difference.
