Brow Lift (Forehead Lift)

Conveniently located to serve Hopkinsville and Christian County

The brow and forehead area is typically one of the first places to begin showing the signs of aging. We may initially recommend BOTOX® to relax the muscles in this area and thus decrease the wrinkles formed by movement. As the skin starts to lose its elasticity, you will begin to see increasing heaviness in the eyebrows, frown lines, and wrinkling across the forehead as the forehead drops down with the effects of gravity. To help you achieve a more youthful appearance, Dr. Mitchell Kaye may recommend a brow lift, also known as a forehead lift. This procedure can also help to correct unwanted features such as an angry or tired look.

What is it?

During a forehead lift, Dr. Mitchell Kaye removes excess skin from the forehead and brow area to reduce drooping and wrinkling. If needed, he will also remove part of the muscle that causes vertical frown lines between the brows.

Is a Brow Lift (Forehead Lift) right for me?

Do you want to:
– Reduce the appearance of wrinkles and lines
– Improve frown lines
– Raise sagging brows
– Gain a more youthful appearance

What will Dr. Kaye and I discuss during my consultation?

Based on your individual needs, there are several available options for the specific type of surgery and the location of incisions used for a forehead lift. During your personalized pre-surgical consultation with our plastic surgeon, we will discuss these options with you to determine which are best suited to your individual needs and desires.

How long is the procedure?

A Brow Lift surgery usually lasts about two hours and is performed on an outpatient basis in our IMQ accredited cosmetic surgery center located at the Advanced Cosmetic Surgery Center of Kentucky. The procedure is completed under deep sedation and local anesthesia to allow for a quick recovery at home.

How long will recovery take?

Recovery from a Brow Lift is quick, with the sutures being removed within the first week. There is no significant downtime involved with eyelid surgery, although we recommend limiting your activities for ten days.
In general, patients are able to return to their normal daily activities within 7-10 days, and they can typically resume a rigorous exercise routine by the third week.
