Eyelid Surgery (Blepharoplasty)
Conveniently located to serve Hopkinsville and Christian County
If your eyelids are droopy or if you have heavy bags under your eyes, blepharoplasty may be the solution you need. Dr. Mitchell Kaye is pleased to offer blepharoplasty in Hopkinsville to help you achieve younger-looking, firmer upper and lower eyelids.
Ideal Candidates
The best candidates for eyelid surgery are people who are experiencing cosmetic and/or functional issues as a result of sagging or puffy eyelids.
Ideal blepharoplasty candidates are in overall good health and have realistic expectations in terms of the surgery’s results.
Non-smokers are preferred. If you smoke, it will be necessary to stop at least two weeks before the surgery and to continue to avoid smoking during recovery.
Your Consultation
Before your procedure, you will meet with our plastic surgeon and his team for a personalized consultation in Hopkinsville, during which you will discuss all of your goals and expectations. You will also discuss any medical or pre-existing eye conditions that should be taken into consideration.
Your plastic surgeon will walk you through the details of the surgery, including preparation and aftercare. You will be able to ask any questions that you may have. An exam will also be performed to ensure that the procedure is right for you. If so, a surgical plan will be created and a date will be set for the surgery.
The office and staff made me comfortable. They are like an extended family. Dr. Kaye seemed so honest and sincere about my procedure and when I saw the passion he has as a Dr. made me confident he was the right choice.
The Procedure
During the blepharoplasty procedure (also known as an eyelid tuck or eyelid lift), Dr. Mitchell Kaye removes the excess fat, skin, and muscles from the upper and lower eyelids. In most cases, we complete this treatment in a single session of about one to two hours with sedation and local anesthesia to ensure your comfort. The patient is then discharged to home.
The recovery Process
Recovery from blepharoplasty is quick, with the sutures being removed within the first week. In general, patients are able to return to their normal daily activities within 7-10 days, and they can typically resume a rigorous exercise routine by the third week. By then, the smoother, tighter eyelid appearance is apparent.
Eyelid Surgery Cost
When it comes to the cost of eyelid surgery in Hopkinsville, numerous factors must be taken into account. The price of blepharoplasty surgery is determined based on factors like the techniques involved, the amount of time required to perform the surgery, and the amount of tissue removed.
